Bowl Playoff System: The Final Rankings

Well my Wahoo friends, the b-ball team recorded a nice win in Blacksburg to ease the heartache of losing to the Hokies time and again to go along with another impressive road victory at Minnesota. Way to go Tony! As for football, Auburn and Oregon handled their business leaving little debate as to the two BCS national title contenders. Of course, TCU is still undefeated and both Oregon and Auburn looked vulnerable at times this season so we at Lambeth still favor a playoff over the antiquated, money talks system of the BCS and the college football circle of elders. With the final BCS poll out, here is the bracket for our proposed tournament. Enjoy!

1. (1)  – Auburn (SEC) – The Tigers finished strong by destroying South Carolina in the SEC Championship

2. (2)  – Oregon (Pac-10) – Oregon took a while to get going, but handled their in-state rival Oregon State easily in the end

3. (3) TCU (Mountain West) – The Rose Bowl is a nice consolation prize, but let the Frogs play for a title!

4. (4) Stanford – The Cardinal will travel to Miami to face the Hokies in the Orange Bowl

5. (5) Wisconsin (Big Ten) – A Rose Bowl bid caps a great year for the smash mouth Badgers

6. (6) Ohio State – The Buckeyes are going to Louisiana for the Sugar Bowl

7.(7) Oklahoma (Big 12) – Oklahoma has a seemingly easy match-up against UConn in the Fiesta

8. (8) Arkansas – As reported here at Lambeth, the Hogs will be playing in the Sugar Bowl

9. (9) Michigan State – Sparty gets left out of a BCS game because of the 2 team rule despite beating both of the conference foes ranked ahead of them; ouch

10. (10) Boise State (WAC) – Boise misses a BCS game and the payday that comes with it due to the heart-breaker against Nevada

11. (11) LSU – The Tigers were fairly left out due to the 2 team rule as they lost to both of the higher-ranked teams

12. (16) Virginia Tech (ACC) – Orange for the Hokies again as they stomped out the Seminoles in the ACC Championship

13, (25) UCF ( C-USA) – The Knights beat SMU to secure the C-USA crown

14. (N/A) Connecticut (Big East) – UConn is going to the Fiesta to be sacrificed to Oklahoma

15. (N/A) Miami, Ohio (MAC) – A shocking comeback win in the MAC Championship game following a 1-11 season last year has Miami looking like it did when Big Ben was there

16. (N/A) FIU (Sun Belt) – The Golden Panthers have sealed their spot in our tourney by winning the Sun Belt
